The clients in Petersham wanted a low maintenance garden that provided a safe area for their young son to play, some lush plantings and an adult zone for entertaining. The garden was featured in the March 2013 edition of ‘Backyard & Garden Design Ideas’ in an article called ‘Tropical Twist’.

We designed a palette of predominantly tropical plantings to soften the boundary walls centered with a level lawn. Curved steel garden edging was added to soften the space.

Bamboo was planted to screen the units to the rear of the garden and provide some elevated greenery when the deciduous trees are bare.

A back lit corten steel feature panel was installed to not only provide a focal feature but to mask the entrance to the storage shed to its rear.

A hard wearing, contemporary concrete table and UV resistant bright green resin chairs add a contemporary touch to this urban oasis.
