This is the entrance and driveway to our ‘strathfield pool garden’ project. Neither we or the owners wanted a ‘driveway that looked like a driveway’ so we designed just that.
Large format custom cut bluestone is interspersed with native ground cover that seeps and blends into the surrounding gardens which are planted with a mix of hardy exotic and trees and culpted plants to soften rectilinear lines of the architecture.
A huge Lemon Scented Gum was underplanted with a mix of succulents and bromeliads that could thrive with the limited root space and poor soil conditions due to the tree.
The landscaping transitions to a more tropical feel via a grand entrance with a water feature and organic bluestone pavers, native violets and palms down the side of the property.
