Tom and Anu have a lovely contemporary home but rarely ventured down into their hot and uninviting tiled courtyard.
Split over 2 levels, we created a dining area on the upper patio, complete with a pergola with remote control louvers ensuring the space can be enjoyed year round. A contemporary black, timber inlay table, oversized concrete pots with standard figs and large format charcoal tiles provide an air of sophistication and minimalism.
In the lower courtyard we removed the unattractive cream tiled flooring to create a multifunctional space the whole family can enjoy. The main deck, with 2 contemporary lounges, are where Tom and Anu relax and spend most of the most time, under the dappled shade provided by our custom designed laser cut pergola. A second deck with 2 Acapulco chairs provides another spot to enjoy a morning coffee under the Frangipani tree, whilst a 3rd under the stairs is where their young daughter keeps her outdoor toys when she’s not enjoying them on the cooling lawn that we introduced.
Multi-level garden beds planted with a mix of succulents, native and tropical plants provide a lush backdrop to the courtyard and will provide privacy from the neighbouring properties as they mature.
